ALC Dance Company founded in September 2005. Paula Loureiro and Ricardo Sousa, its artistic directors, choreographers and dancers, have danced together since 2000.

The dance company is currently made up of 6 dancers. Due to wide knowledge and diverse training they acquired along the years, their show is a unique mixture of different styles of dance.

In 2007 and 2008, they won the title of the best Portuguese teachers. In 2009, they won in the category of best Portuguese Show at the Top Dance Awards and were nominated for best choreographers at the I Portugal Dance Awards in the "world dances" category. They were also official judges of the international kizomba competition “Africadançar” and invited regularly to judge several dance competitions.

In 2015 they created the international project “ALC HugDance Project”, creating a world network of performances teams in combination with some of the most recognized choreographers in the scene.

They have performed and taught at many salsa/kizomba congresses and festivals, public and private events, in countries like Angola, Australia, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, India, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lebanon, Malaysia, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweeden, Switzerland, Timor Leste, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States.

Paula and Ricardo have their school, ALC Dance Studios, now in 3 poles, V.N de Gaia, Porto and Braga, Portugal, and are also manager of the afrolatin night club Muxima Bar. They also are organizers of the international events "Dmaes Summer Bootcamp", "Tá Fixe Kizomba Festival”, “Porto Salsa Mob" and “HugDance Meetings”. The last project announced is the ALC Dance Studios and Methodology Franchise.

Also created a training directed to instructors and future instructors, regarding level 1 and 2 of teaching by Afrolatin Connection Methodology, with more than 200 students from all over the world.

Bruno and Catarina (ALC Dance Company) Porto - Portugal

Bruno started his life in the Afrolatin dance world in 1999, since then has grown dancing. He joined Afrolatin Connection dance company in 2006 and two years later won the 1st International Kizomba Championship (Africadançar) and got the 3rd prize in Portugal Salsa Open. 

Catarina started her dancing life in 2005 with ballet/classic dances and started dancing ballroom in 2007 winning several championships. In 2011 she started with afrolatin dances, entering in Afrolatin Connection dance company.

Dancing together since 2015, Bruno and Catarina have performed and taught at many Salsa and Kizomba festivals in countries like Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, UK, Poland, Lebanon, Denmark, Norway... In parallel they have been teachers in Afrolatin Connection dance school for several years and also appeared a few times in television shows in Portugal, Spain and Angola.
